Magnetic sorters consist of a closed stainless steel structure, designed to contain and guide the material flow towards the magnetic drum, optimizing separation efficiency and reducing dispersion and contamination.
The core of the machine is one or more rotating magnetic drums, installed in a strategic position with respect to the inlet point and the discharge outlets.
The drums can be made with ferrite magnets, neodymium magnets, or mixed combinations, depending on the required magnetic strength and the nature of the material to be processed.
The material is fed onto the drum shell through a chute that regulates and channels the incoming flow.
The structure features two separate outlets: one for the ferrous material attracted by the drum and one for the non-magnetic material, which continues along its natural trajectory.
¿Cómo funciona una clasificadora magnética?
The material to be processed is introduced into the stainless steel housing through a feeding inlet and channeled in a controlled way towards the active magnetic surface of the drum.
Ferrous materials, such as nails, washers, dust, or contaminated metal parts, are attracted by the magnetic field and held on the drum shell until the discharge point, where the field weakens and the drum releases them, dropping them into a dedicated outlet.
The non-magnetic material, unaffected by the field, follows its natural trajectory—generally vertical with respect to the feeding inlet—and falls into a separate outlet.
The effectiveness of the separation depends on:
- the intensity and depth of the magnetic field (ferrite or neodymium);
- the rotation speed of the drum;
- the particle size and distribution of the processed material (layering).
In multistage models, the material passes over multiple drums in series, allowing the removal of residual ferrous particles with greater accuracy.
Tipos y medidas disponibles.
Magnetic drums are available in different configurations, each designed to adapt to specific application requirements:
- Drums with ferrite magnets: generate a wide and deep magnetic field, ideal for the removal of medium to large ferrous metals, even when they are not in direct contact with the drum surface. They are an economical and effective choice for standard applications.
- Drums with neodymium magnets: provide a much more intense magnetic field, concentrated close to the surface. They are particularly suitable for intercepting small, thin, or weakly magnetic ferrous particles, such as those present in fine fractions or light materials.
It is important to highlight that, for each drum type, the magnetic field is tailored to the specific application, by varying the magnet layering and the pole configuration (picking, transport, or mixed). This enables us to provide the optimal magnetic power according to the type of material to be processed and the installation method.
Características principales.
- Availability in different sizes and configurations: these separators are available in various dimensions, depending on the throughput and the particle size of the input material, to adapt to plant requirements.
- Tailored magnetic field: designed case by case, according to the material to be processed and the separation objectives.
- High deferrization efficiency: with the possibility of series installations to achieve even cleaner results and minimize product losses.
- Continuous and automatic operation: extraction takes place automatically, without interruptions to the production process.
- Solid and durable structure: designed to withstand even the most demanding working conditions.
- Low maintenance: designed to operate in tough conditions, with minimal ordinary maintenance requirements. It is sufficient to periodically check the lubrication of the bearings and the condition of the rotating shell (drum shell).
- Application versatility: suitable for a wide range of materials (plastic, glass, wood, mixed waste, MSW, inert materials, paper, and WEEE), the sorters can be configured for different working contexts and required purity levels.
